Eleanor Evans is an award winning Complementary Therapist based at the Centre for Integral Health, Shrewsbury.
I have had an interest in health and wellbeing since I was a young child. Since the age of three I had wanted to be a nurse and there was never a day when I couldn’t be seen clutching my little nurses bag full of bandages and plasters. This carried on throughout my childhood with much of my childhood and teenage years spent volunteering for the local branch of a national charity.
I gained much experience over this time including helping at four outward bound holidays for children with disabilities. I was a keen first aider and helped at events such as football matches and motocross.
I followed my childhood dream and in the year 2000 I qualified as a Registered General Nurse. I loved nursing. However I was frequently distressed that I was unable to provide care in a holistic manner due to time restraints. Due to this and ill health at the time I decided to find a different way to be able to care for people. Following the birth of my two children I felt drawn to attend a Reiki level one course. For me this was a wonderful experience and was the start of a spiritual journey. It also reignited my interest in Complementary Therapy having been interested in aromatherapy as a teenager. This interest and passion has grown and grown. I now offer a range of Complementary Therapies. These include Reiki, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and Relaxation Techniques.
As a Complementary Therapist, I am committed to providing my clients with a professional and ethical service. I will listen to you – having a complementary therapy treatment with me with never feel like a conveyor belt experience. I care about my clients and their lives. I am passionate about Complementary Therapies and how they can help support people. I always make sure that my knowledge of the Complementary Therapy profession and the therapies I practise are up to date. I regularly attend courses and seminars as well as keeping up to date with the latest research. I have recently studied a Foundation Degree in Complementary Therapies, specialising in Clinical Reflexology and Clinical Aromatherapy. I am experienced and well qualified.
I have worked in nursing homes as a care assistant and a nurse and have experience of working in the community with people living with disabilities and mental illness.
As a Complementary Therapist, I always try to treat my clients holistically. You are a whole person and I will consider you as that. Therefore a full consultation will always be carried out before your first treatment. You will always be given time at each treatment to discuss any changes in your health. You will also be provided with home care advice. All information given to me during the course of a treatment is treated in the strictest confidence.
I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists which only accepts Reflexologists that have had a high level of training in Reflexology. I am fully insured and adhere to a strict code of conduct.
